Pump in the middle of nowhere

Really, who decided to put a pump here?

There's this white pump with no handle on the way from my house to town. Other than a road, it is free standing and in the middle of nowhere. Someone must own it, though, because it's repainted at certain intervals. It's hilarious, to me at least.

It's always amused me, Blockbuster is too classy to carry porn, but "Family" Video has a whole room for it, not to mention a bit of soft porn placed here and there among the regular videos. I give them credit for putting it too high for little kids to see, though.
